Jonathan Little is heading the 20 survivors after Day 2 of the WPT Bobby Baldwin Classic Main Event after the player bagged the largest stack of the night worth 763,000. Little boasts two previous WPT Main Event titles which means that a win at Aria Resort & Casino would tie him with just five other players to have ever scooped three titles from the popular series.

Day 2 of the tournament kicked off with 62 survivors from the previous day and 12 players who took advantage of the late registration option and joined the field before the start of action at the host casino. Registration closed once cards were thrown in the air on Monday. The overall field thus reached 162 entries who created a prize pool of $1,555,200.

Kevin Eyster, another two-time WPT champion, was leading the Day 1 survivors into the second day of action. The player made it through the end of Day 2, but it appeared that he had lost some of his momentum. Nevertheless, he ended Day 2 sixth in chips with 259,000, which is not a bad position to enter today’s action.

While Eyster might have lost momentum, Little gained quite some of it to eventually build the largest stack of the day. The biggest pot of the day came for the overnight chip leader when he busted Andrew Lichtenberger, another WPT regular, in 23rd place. Little held pocket tens on that hand to his opponent’s pocket jacks. A ten on the flop sealed it for Little and sent Lichtenberger to the rail.

Little and Eyster were not the only two-time WPT champions to secure a spot among the final 20 players who will return at the host casino later today. Sam Panzica, who bagged and tagged the third largest stack last night with 411,500, is too part of that elite club.

It is also interesting to note that while Little, Eyster, or Panzica might join another elite club – that of the very few three-time WPT champions – at the end of the tournament, a player who has already become its member is also still in contention. Darren Elias collected 135,500 in chips last night and while he might have locked a spot at the bottom part of the current chips count chart, he still has a considerable chance to become the first-ever fourth-time WPT Main Tour Main Event champion.

What had left of the field of the WPT Bobby Baldwin Classic Main Event is represented by quite some poker celebrities besides the above-mentioned. Dietrich Fast and Jared Jaffee are the other two former WPT champs to have made it thus far into the ongoing tournament. In addition, poker superstar and record-breaking WSOP gold bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth is looking to win his first WPT title.
